The M8 World Championship — the eighth edition of Moonton's annual world title — will be the culminating event of the 2026 competitive season, and it is breaking new ground. With Mobile Legends: Bang Bang celebrating its 10-year anniversary, the tournament will be split between two host countries: Thailand for the Wildcard stage and Türkiye for the main event.
That makes Türkiye the first country outside Southeast Asia to host an M-Series.

How teams qualify
M8 slots are distributed through the second-half pro leagues and the MLBB Continental Tournaments (MCT). Based on the current qualification list, direct slots go to:
- MPL Indonesia S18 — 1st and 2nd
- MPL Philippines S18 — 1st and 2nd
- MPL Malaysia S18 — 1st and 2nd
- MCT SEA 2026 — 1st and 2nd
- MCT EA 2026 Split 2 — 1st
- MCT AMER Season 2 — 1st
- MCC Season 8, MTC Season 8 and MPL MENA Season 10 — 1st
Further teams arrive through the Wildcard in Thailand, fed by MCT SEA (3rd–4th), MSL Thailand Season 2 (1st–3rd), MCT EA Split 2 (2nd), MCT AMER (2nd), MCC (2nd–3rd), MTC (2nd) and MPL MENA (2nd).
A European–Asian split for the world championship would have been unthinkable in the M1 era. In year ten, it feels like a statement of where the game is heading.
What to watch between now and January
The race is very much live. MPL PH and MPL ID both enter Week 7 this week, MPL Malaysia resumes on 8 October, and the MCT SEA group stage doesn't start until 9 December — meaning some M8 places won't be settled until a few weeks before the event.
