Leon Esports are the MSL Thailand Season 2 champions. They beat Bacon Time 4–3 in a seven-game grand final at a sold-out BCC Hall, Central Ladprao, in Bangkok on 18 October, and used their champion's choice to take Thailand's place at the M8 World Championship Wild Card.
MSL Thailand Season 2 playoff results
Leon were the favourites after a perfect 9–0 regular season, but they had to do it the hard way.
| Date | Round | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 16 Oct | Play-in | King of Gamers Club 2–1 Valee Thai Esports |
| 16 Oct | Play-in | Bacon Time 2–0 BRU |
| 16 Oct | Upper bracket semifinal | Leon Esports 3–1 King of Gamers Club |
| 16 Oct | Upper bracket semifinal | Bacon Time 3–0 Tenacity |
| 17 Oct | Lower bracket semifinal | Tenacity 3–1 King of Gamers Club |
| 17 Oct | Upper bracket final | Bacon Time 3–1 Leon Esports |
| 18 Oct | Lower bracket final | Leon Esports 3–0 Tenacity |
| 18 Oct | Grand final (Bo7) | Leon Esports 4–3 Bacon Time |
Bacon Time handed Leon their first series defeat of the season in the upper bracket final. Leon answered with a 3–0 sweep of Tenacity in the lower bracket, then won a grand final that went the full seven games. Leon's mid laner Karnnz was named Finals MVP.
Leon lost one series all season and still won the title. A 9–0 regular season mirrors King of Gamers Club's run to the Season 1 crown, and both teams went on to lift the trophy.
Who goes where: M8 Wild Card and MCT SEA
The MSL Thailand champion picks its next stage first. Leon chose the M8 Wild Card, which means:
| Team | Finish | Next event |
|---|---|---|
| Leon Esports | Champion | M8 World Championship Wild Card, Bangkok |
| Bacon Time | Runner-up | MCT SEA, Bangkok |
| Tenacity | Third | MCT SEA, Bangkok (host-country place) |
Thailand gets a second MCT SEA place because Bangkok is hosting both the M8 Wild Card and the first MLBB SEA Championship Tour. MCT SEA brings 12 teams from 11 South-East Asian countries to ICON SIAM in Bangkok: the group stage runs 9–10 December and the playoffs 11–13 December. Its top two go straight to the M8 main stage in Istanbul, and third and fourth join the Wild Card in Bangkok, where three teams advance.
That puts Thailand at the centre of December's road to M8, before the main event in Istanbul in January. For the full qualification picture, see the road to M8.
