The MongolZ won MCT East Asia Split 2 in front of a home crowd at the M Bank Arena in Ulaanbaatar on 31 October, and with it a place on the M8 World Championship main stage. Runners-up DianFengYaoGuai and third-placed Guangzhou Gaming go to the M8 Wildcard stage in Bangkok.

How the playoffs went

The MongolZ did it the long way. They lost their upper bracket semifinal to DianFengYaoGuai 2–0 on 30 October, then won three series in a row in the lower bracket: Mio Ahp 2–0, Guangzhou Gaming 3–0 in the lower bracket final, and DianFengYaoGuai in the Bo7 grand final. DianFengYaoGuai had reached the final unbeaten and started it with the upper bracket team's advantage, so The MongolZ had to overturn that as well. Kei was MVP of the last two games of the final.
