Format

Wildcard (Bangkok): 10 teams, 3 places. Two groups of five play a single round robin in best-of-ones. Each group winner goes straight to the Main Stage. The second- and third-placed teams play a cross-group, best-of-five single-elimination bracket for the last place.

Swiss Stage (Istanbul): 16 teams. Five rounds; three wins to advance, three losses to go home. Eight teams go through.

Knockout Stage (Istanbul): 8 teams. Double elimination, starting with best-of-threes, then best-of-fives, and a best-of-seven Grand Final for the title and a share of the US$1 million prize pool.

Who qualifies

  • Straight to the Main Stage: the top two teams from MCT Southeast Asia and the champions of MCT East Asia and MCT Americas, plus the regional league qualifiers. In the Philippines, the MPL PH Season 18 champion and runner-up qualify; Team Falcons PH are already through.
  • To the Wildcard: MCT SEA's third and fourth places, MCT East Asia's second and third, the MCT Americas runner-up and qualifiers from other leagues.

That is 10 Wildcard teams for three places, up from eight teams for two places at M7. See where every region stands on the road to M8.
