MLBB patch 2.2.16a went live on 14 October 2026, the first balance update since patch 2.2.16 opened Season 42. It is a short list aimed squarely at the heroes dominating ranked: Aulus, Hirara, Eudora and Rafaela are nerfed and Kalea is buffed.
Why these heroes
All four nerfed heroes were among the most contested picks in Mythic rank going into the patch. Moonton's ranked statistics on 13 October, the day before it landed:
| Hero | Mythic win rate | Mythic ban rate |
|---|---|---|
| Hirara | 53.5% | 84.5% |
| Eudora | 51.6% | 66.1% |
| Aulus | 60.3% | 56.2% |
| Rafaela | 59.4% | 23.2% |
A hero banned in more than four games out of five, like Hirara, rarely reaches the draft at all. Aulus and Rafaela were winning close to 60% of the games they were picked in.
MLBB patch 2.2.16a hero changes
Aulus (nerf)
Moonton's aim is to cut Aulus's sustain while keeping his early-to-mid game burst.
- Fighting Spirit (passive): the attack speed bonus on his enhanced basic attack no longer scales with level (now a flat 20%). Its base damage drops from 135 (+15 per level) to 120 (+12 per level), and the HP it restores changes from 30 (+15% Total Physical Attack) to 15 (+20% Total Physical Attack).
- Aulus, Charge! (skill 1): cooldown changes from 14–12s to 15s at every level.
- Undying Fury (ultimate): damage is redistributed rather than cut. The first four strikes go from 110–270 to 150–230, the last slash from 330–810 to 450–690, and the final hit comes out faster.
Net effect: less healing in long fights and a longer gap between charges, with a stronger ultimate at low levels and a weaker one at max level.
Hirara (nerf)
Hirara could use her invincibility skill too often. Moonton has lengthened the gap and compensated slightly in the late game.
- Meisen-e (skill 1): cooldown up from 9–5.5s to 10–6.5s.
- Kaerazu: damage changes from 150–255 (+65% Extra Physical Attack) to 165–270 (+42%–70% Extra Physical Attack), so her full combo hits a little harder once she has items.
Eudora (nerf)
Eudora's ultimate was too punishing early on, so every part of Thunder's Wrath loses about 10% damage:
| Part of the ultimate | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Centre area | 600–1000 (+160% Magic Power) | 540–900 (+145% Magic Power) |
| Outside the centre | 300–500 (+100% Magic Power) | 270–450 (+90% Magic Power) |
| Delayed damage | 330–550 (+110% Magic Power) | 300–500 (+100% Magic Power) |
Rafaela (nerf)
Rafaela's constant skill casts gave her team too much poke and healing. Her cooldowns no longer shrink as far at high skill levels:
- Light of Retribution (skill 1): cooldown changes from 5–3s to 5s at every level.
- Holy Healing (skill 2): cooldown changes from 10.5–8.5s to 10.5–9.5s.
Kalea (buff)
Kalea relied too heavily on her allies, so Moonton has given her more solo kill potential:
- Surge of Life (passive): her enhanced third basic attack goes from 70 (+4 per level) to 120 (+12 per level) damage. New: she gains 60% Movement Speed for 1 second when she absorbs the Water Zone.
- Tidal Strike: damage bonus up from 8% to 14% of Max HP.
What it means for ranked
Four of the five heroes that defined Season 42's first month have been toned down in one hotfix. Expect ban slots to open up, and expect Hirara to stay a priority ban anyway: the changes trim her uptime, not her ceiling.
- Aulus keeps his early pressure, so he should still be picked; the change matters most in long, drawn-out fights.
- Eudora loses roughly a tenth of her burst. A full combo will no longer reliably kill every carry it used to.
- Rafaela and Kalea move in opposite directions in the roam and support pool, which could make room for other healers.
We will see how much the numbers move once Moonton's statistics catch up with the patch. Follow it on the tier list and the weekly meta report, and check each hero's page for current builds.
What is on the Advanced Server
The test server is already further ahead. Advanced Server builds reported in October include a Natalia revamp and further tuning of Dori, the mage expected to become hero number 134. These are test changes that can still change before they reach the live game, and no release date has been announced.
